Tic-Tac-Toe
Is there a child in your life that likes to play games? I have many nieces and nephews that I love making things for. I don’t like to add too many “things” to our already full lives, but a good game can lead to great family time.
I found a picture of this on Pinterest, but the website was no longer available. No problem, I can figure this out. Here is my version of tic-tac-toe, scrappy style.
I used cotton scraps for the Xs and Os, denim for the bean bags, and upholstery scraps for the game board and bag.
I cut the letters (based on the size of the denim squares) with a pinking shears and sewed them onto one of the 6” denim squares.
I made 5 Xs and 5 Os. Then I sewed a blank denim square onto it right sides together, leaving a 2 inch opening to turn the squares right side out.
I put 1/2 cup of beans and 1/2 cup rice into the beanbags and sewed them shut. I hand sewed some and top-stitched some. I prefer the top-stitch method because it was faster and I think it looks better.
Then I sewed ribbon onto my game board for lines.
Finally, I made a drawstring bag to hold the whole game.
The game can be played traditionally, or the bean bags can be used for many other games.
What games have you made?
